Retinal Imaging

Digital Retinal Photography

This technology allows optometrists to view the back of the eye in extraordinary detail. We can see the development of many eye diseases when they are in their infancy.

The high resolution camera makes it easy to diagnose many eye diseases including glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments.

Retinal photography is also effective for detecting other diseases.  Often we can see signs of high blood pressure or diabetes before they are even on our patients radar.

When it comes to eye diseases, early detection and treatment is key.  It provides a more thorough and permanent record of the health of your eyes for future comparisons.

OCT Imaging

This is an advanced imaging technique that allows optometrists to see extremely detailed cross sections of the innermost lining of your eye.
It works like an ultrasound to measure the thickness of the retina and its individual layers.  Instead of sound, it uses light which is perfectly safe for the eyes.
With the ability to measure delicate structures, OCT is the ultimate tool for precise diagnosis and management.  Examining the retina without OCT would be like trying to diagnose a broken arm without an x-ray or a ruptured disc without an MRI.

OCT imaging is an effective tool for the detection and monitoring many eye conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes and retinal detachment.
